The exhibition opens on 31 July at 5:00 pm and will remain on view in Fjaltring until 18 December 2026. In the summer of 2027, the exhibition will travel to the village of Sønder Nissum. 

The exhibition is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and Erasmus+. In addition, the Sønder Nissum Citizens' and Sports Association has secured funding for the exhibition from Holstebro Municipality.

 „Syreny z Fjaltring” to projekt inspirowany Małą Syrenką Hansa Christiana Andersena. Bajka ma wielowymiarową interpretację, w której interesują mnie głównie występujące w niej siostry, wzajemnie się wspierające i chroniące.

W swojej twórczości postacią syreny ‒ w kontekście mitologicznym, symbolicznym, feministycznym, narracyjnym, a także badawczym ‒ poprzez analizowanie tekstów literackich i obrazów, zajmuję się od wielu lat. Mój namysł dotyczący tego tematu oscyluje wokół zagadnień siostrzeństwa, wspólnoty, współuczestniczenia oraz ciała w sztuce w szerokim ujęciu.

„Syreny z Fjaltring” są wkładem w aktualną dyskusję dotyczącą roli języka artystycznego, a także tworzenia postaw i nowych interpretacji w kontekście baśni i dziedzictwa kulturowego.

 "The Mermaids from Fjaltring " is a project inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid. The fairy tale invites multiple interpretations; my primary interest lies in the sisters, who support and protect one another.

In my artistic practice, I have explored the figure of the mermaid for many years — from mythological, symbolic, feminist, narrative, and research-based perspectives. Through the analysis of literary texts and visual representations, I reflect on themes of sisterhood, community, shared participation, and the body in the field of art.

"The Mermaids from Fjaltring" contribute to the ongoing discussion on the role of artistic language, as well as the creation of new perspectives and interpretations in relation to fairy tales and cultural heritage.
